State Sen. Vincent Hughes, D-Philadelphia/Montgomery counties, and his wife Sheryl Lee Ralph-Hughes, in partnership with Share Food Program, and other community groups and elected officials, hosted a food-a-thon to collect non-perishable items at two grocery stores to benefit children and families in need during the holidays.

Partners included: WURD 900AM-96.1FM, DiverseForce, Gov. Tom Wolf, Attorney General Josh Shapiro, State Rep. Donna Bullock, State Rep. Morgan Cephas, State Rep. Joanna McClinton, Councilmember Cindy Bass, Councilmember Curtis Jones Jr. and Councilmember-elect Jamie Gauthier.

All donations guaranteed entry to Hughes Community Holiday Affair later that evening at 3801 Market St. In addition to information tables, dancing and food, there was music by DJ Tactics and Breakwater performed.
