Knowing that caring for a loved one who is living with a cognitive disease can be overwhelming for a caregiver and family, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.’s Alpha Alpha Omicron Zeta chapter recently held their 2nd Annual Caregiver Appreciation Day.

The chapter’s event was held May 3, 2019, as part of its relationship with Active Day Center in Northeast Philadelphia. They have several events at Active Day each year.

Part of the Caregiver Appreciation Day there was a table discussion on the importance on Alzheimer’s and dementia with Fredericka Waugh of the Alzheimer’s Association of Delaware Valley. She also addressed the importance of self-care for caregivers.
